Honda Cars domestic sales slip in fiscal 2020-21 dips to 82074 units

Honda
Cars India (HCIL), a leading manufacturer of passenger cars in India,
registered monthly domestic sales of 7,103 units in March 2021, thereby
clocking a growth of 92% when compared to its wholesales of 3,697 units in the
month of March 2020.
HCIL’s
annual domestic sales stood at 82,074 units during FY 20-21. The company had
sold 102,016 units in domestic market and exported 3,826 units in FY 19-20.
HCIL
exported a total volume of 5,131 units during FY 20-21 with 1,069 units
exported in the month of Mar’21.

Ltd said, “Fiscal Year 20-21 was an unprecedented year full of COVID led
challenges, but the industry showed great resilience and made considerable
recovery during unlock phase. Similarly, after an extremely tough 1st half,
strong efforts both at the production side and dealer network helped HCIL to
witness positive growth of 39% in 2nd Half of the fiscal. Buoyant customers
have injected fresh vigour in the market and we are striving to sustain the
growth momentum in future.”
“The
supply constraints due to continuing global shortage of semi-conductors have
impacted our production volume and dispatches particularly for Honda City in
Mar’21. We will continue to make efforts towards restoring normalcy and hope
this issue gets resolved at the earliest,” he added.
